About Me

I am a researcher of migration and diaspora, photographer, and journalist. I have photos and stories published in newspapers, docu-shorts and podcasts created for Senator Paula Simons, and received awards for my work.

Previously based at the Toronto Metropolitan Centre for Immigration and Settlement (TMCIS)—now the Global Migration Institute (GMI)— at Toronto Metropolitan University, and the Centre for Refugee Studies (CRS) at York University, I conducted research on a wide range of topics, from decolonizing migration studies to climate forced migration.

My research interests particularly lie in the intersection between diaspora identities and cultures, and its impact on the urban environment. I have a particular interest in visual methodologies, shaped by creative and academic experiences (B.A. Hons., University of Toronto; MPhil Global and Area Studies, University of Oxford) where original ethnographic research led me to the question of how to accurately represent stories.

In between my academic pursuits, I am writing about municipal affairs or advocating for mobility justice and affordable housing. Other times, you can find me climbing at a local crag, camping in the backcountry, or setting off on a solo-hike in the alps.

Currently based in-between Toronto, Markham, and Ottawa, Canada.
